Privacy policy

Last updated 19 September 2026.

This policy explains what BDIELTS collects when you use BDIELTS, why we collect it, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to students, institutes, examiners and anyone who simply visits the site.

Who is responsible for your data

BDIELTS operates BDIELTS and decides how the information described here is used. You can reach us at work@bdielts.com.

If your institute created your account, that institute also sees your results — it is your teacher, and the platform exists so it can teach you. What the institute can see is listed below.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Name, email address, phone numberTo create your account, sign you in and send you results.
Your answers to mock testsTo mark them and show you your bands and weak areas.
Your Writing scripts, typed or photographedTo mark them by AI and by a human examiner.
Your speaking answersConverted to text and scored. See "Recordings" below.
Payment references you give usYour institute confirms a transfer before your balance moves. We never see or store a card number.
Basic technical logsKeeping the service up and investigating problems.

Recordings

For AI speaking practice, your recording is sent for transcription, the text is kept as your answer, and the audio itself is not stored on our servers. A live speaking test with an examiner is a scheduled session with a person, and anything recorded there is described to you at the time of booking.

AI marking, and where your work goes

Writing scripts, speaking transcripts and photographed handwriting are sent to an AI provider so they can be scored or read. Those providers run outside Bangladesh, which means your work leaves the country to be processed. We send the script and the question — never your name, email or phone number.

An AI band is a practice estimate. Where a human examiner also marks your work, the examiner's band is the one that counts.

Who can see what

  • You — everything on your own account.
  • Your institute — your name, contact details, attempts, bands and payments. It cannot read another institute's students.
  • Examiners — the scripts assigned to them for marking, and the bands they give.
  • Us — the same, for support and for keeping the platform working.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Your results stay with your account while it is open, because progress over time is the point of practising. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your personal details and your scripts. We keep the minimum needed for accounting records.

What you can ask for

  • A copy of what we hold about you.
  • A correction, if something is wrong.
  • Deletion of your account and your work. Students can request this from their profile page; we act on it after confirming it is you.
  • An explanation of any band you were given.

Cookies and storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember small preferences, such as which tab you had open. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Under 18

IELTS candidates are often school students. If you are under 18, please use BDIELTS with a parent, guardian or your institute's knowledge. If you tell us an account belongs to a child and should not exist, we will remove it.

Security

Accounts are password protected, traffic is encrypted, and the files you upload live in private storage that is not reachable by a public link. No system is perfect: if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and say what we are doing about it.

Bangladesh law

We operate in Bangladesh and follow Bangladeshi law, including the Information and Communication Technology Act 2006, the Cyber Security Act 2023 and the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009. Bangladesh does not yet have a single data-protection statute in force; where the law is silent we apply the standards described in this policy.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be sent to your account.

Questions about your data? Email work@bdielts.com, or see the contact page. Our terms of service cover what we promise and what we ask of you.
